A lovely, bright, ruby red. Perfumed and already quite complex as a young wine; has attractive, smoky, sweet fruit aromas with musky, berry fruits and some light prosciutto-like characters. Has good depth of fruit; its fresh raspberry and plum fruit flavours are complexed by the slight hint of charry oak after its period of maturation in once/twice used French oak. There's a slight spicy character with a hint of sweet paprika. The wine has lovely palate weight with the very gentle, lightly drying tannins contributing to its nice dry finish.
