West Cape Howe's best blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon are reserved for the ‘Book Ends’. A dark and dense crimson red colour with rich aromas of red berry and dark berry/blackcurrant fruits and all complexed by the cedar/tobacco characters from its maturation in French oak.
With its rich dark berry fruit flavours and great tannin structure, the West Cape Howe ‘Book Ends’ is a classic Great Southern Cabernet Sauvignon. It has the typical red berry fruits and some ‘bramble’ berry and blackcurrant/ cassis flavours together with a slight ‘dusty’ character from its period of oak maturation to add to its complexity. It has cedary notes and a touch of spice along with a hint of varietal dried herb character which all makes for a great wine to match with food! With its gently drying, slightly chewy tannins, it has great persistence and palate length and will age well.
